HOC4 Release Notes 1.15.0

LLH4v1.15.0 (Released: 12/23/2025)

Overview

This release brings the Volunteer Skills experience into HOC4, aligning it with what customers rely on in HOC3. It restores key functionality for organizations that use volunteer skills for reporting and program management, and includes improvements and guidance around HOC4 forms and validations.

🐞 Bug Fixes

LHH-22426 – Volunteer Skills page showing 404 in HOC4 for specific customers

  • What was the issue?
  • For some sites (such as Hands On Nashville), visiting the HOC4 Volunteer Skills URL resulted in a 404 error, even though the same page worked correctly in HOC3.
  • What was solved?
  • We fully wired up the Volunteer Skills route and page in HOC4 and deployed it first for affected customers and then for all clients.
  • Result: The Volunteer Skills page now loads correctly in HOC4 for sites where it is enabled, instead of returning an error.

LHH-22499 – Guidance and validation fix for HOC4 forms

  • What was the issue?
  • Admins and staff needed:
    • Clear instructions for adding the “Alternate Organization Served” field into the Partner Portal “Add New Occurrence” form.
    • A path forward for handling staff-only fields in the Opportunity creation flow.
    • A fix to a validation behavior during user editing that could look like a bug to end users.
  • What was solved?
  • We:
    • Documented how Global admins can use Form Builder to add a new field to the Partner Portal Add New Occurrence form, map it to the “Alternate Organization Served” field in Salesforce, and configure the options source.
    • Outlined an approach for handling more complex, role-based visibility for staff-only fields.
    • Deployed a validation fix so user edits behave as expected and reduce confusion for end users.

🆕 New Features

LHH-22571 – Volunteer Skills and Skill Documentation pages in HOC4

  • What was the issue?
  • HOC4 did not yet provide working versions of the Volunteer Skills pages that many customers use in HOC3 to track and display volunteer skills:
    • /volunteer-skills
    • /volunteer-skill-documentation
  • What was solved?
  • We implemented the Volunteer Skills and Skill Documentation pages in HOC4 and connected them to the HOC4 public site and services, matching the behavior of HOC3. These pages can now be enabled through the activation module, and the related system forms become available for configuration.
  • Result: Sites that use skills can now continue to manage and display volunteer skills in HOC4 with familiar URLs and behavior.

LLH4v1.15.1 (Released: 01/06/2026)

Overview

This release focuses on stability and usability in HOC4. It improves how key emails are generated, fixes confusing time zone behavior on opportunities, and restores helpful contact information in dropdowns so staff can work more efficiently and volunteers have a smoother experience.

🐞 Bug Fixes

LHH-22610 – Verification link not rendering correctly in Lightning email

  • What was the issue?
  • Some verification emails were going out with a broken or malformed verification link, making it difficult or impossible for users to complete the verification process.
  • What was solved?
  • We corrected how the verification URL is inserted into the Lightning email template so it is no longer altered by background HTML processing.
  • Result: Verification emails now contain a clean, working link that users can click without any issues.

LHH-22575 – Public Site notifications not using Lightning email templates

  • What was the issue?
  • Two Public Site emails were still using older templates instead of the Lightning versions:
    • Opportunity Sign-up Acknowledgement for Express Interest Only
    • Volunteer Status has been confirmed for Express Interest Only
  • What was solved?
  • We updated the logic that chooses which email template to send so that, when a Lightning version exists, it is selected automatically.
  • Result: These public-facing notifications now use the Lightning Email Templates, giving volunteers a more modern and consistent email experience.

LHH-22564 – Time zone showing incorrectly on new occurrences

  • What was the issue?
  • When staff added new occurrences or recurrences, the time zone could unexpectedly switch (for example, showing Central time instead of Eastern). This was confusing and could lead to incorrect event times unless staff noticed and fixed them manually.
  • What was solved?
  • We corrected how the system calculates and applies the time zone when:
    • Creating recurrences at the same time as the Volunteer Opportunity, and
    • Adding recurrences or single occurrences to an existing opportunity, especially when the site time zone and the default location time zone are different.

LHH-22508 – Contact dropdown not showing phone and email as before

  • What was the issue?
  • Previously, contact dropdowns showed a combined label with name, phone, and email, making it easy to pick the right person. After a backend field name change, that combined information stopped appearing, so staff had less context when selecting a contact.
  • What was solved?
  • We updated the configuration and logic to use the correct field again and display it properly.
  • Result: Contact dropdowns once again show clear combined details (name, phone, email), helping staff quickly identify and select the correct contact.
